About Us
The LOOK Assessment team used other viewing time tools since 1999.  We became concerned about how data was being presented and the decisions being made by the data.  The LOOK assessment team completed various research projects on the other viewing time tools.  Through that research, we learned about the other tools’ pitfalls.  We learned how easy it was to falsify our competitors’ tools.  In fact, some of the tools could be used without even looking at the images!  We learned how difficult it was to identify falsification.  Many of the other tools’ images are very dated and difficult to view and some clients struggle with the use of the computer.

The Answer- LOOK Assessment!

  • The LOOK Assessment is non-invasive
  • Intuitive touch-screen technology (iPad application)
  • Resistant to falsification
  • Empirically-derived expectation
  • Efficient
  • Current reliability, temporal stability, falsification and criterion validity research on the LOOK

The LOOK Assessment offers:

  • 14 categories of attractors: infant to senior ages.  All 154 images are standardized in visual value, pose, and size.  Fully-clothed, non-seductive, and diverse ethnicities matched to U.S. Census.
  • Profiles for adult males and females, high-functioning intellectually-disabled people, and, currently on an experimental basis, juveniles over age 14.
  • English and Spanish versions and instructions
  • Ability to control outlying data
  • Ongoing research made available to universities interested in viewing time.  Currently, several researchers are using the LOOK Assessment.
  • Training videos – the user’s manual has been created in modern 6 minute videos explaining the use of the tool and research behind it.

“The iPad platform makes the LOOK easy and engaging to use, and the contemporary photographs of individuals from a wide range of age groups provides an opportunity to collect valuable information regarding self-reported sexual interests.  The viewing-time feature of the LOOK is also a promising method of providing additional information regarding an individual’s sexual interests.”
